The DreamHack Masters Winter 2020: Europe is about to get underway as part of the ESL Pro Tour and feature 16 teams vying for a total of $150,000, and 450 points for the first place. The event is sponsored by an array of companies, including CORSAIR, Monster Energy, Intel, AT&T and Betway. DreamHack Europe kicks off on November 30 and will continue through December 6.

More importantly, the Counter-Strike community will see a number of established squads have their shot at the grand prize. A total of 14 teams were invited while c0ntact Gaming and Gambit Esports managed to enter the event through Closed Qualifier.

The invited teams include squads such as Astralis, Team Liquid, G2 Esports, FURIA Esports, Cloud9 and other Counter-Strike household names.

DreamHack Masters Winter 2020: Europe Overview

Event Format, Groups and Playoffs

All 16 teams will be split into double-elimination format (GSL) Groups, with 8 teams in each Group and all matches played in a Best of 3 (Bo3). This means that we will see 2 Upper Bracket and Lower Bracket rounds before 4 teams are qualified from each Group.

This puts the number of competing teams in the Playoffs to 8 total squads. The Playoffs kick off with the Quarterfinals round and then progress to the Semifinals, before finally meeting at the Grand Final.

The format will be a single elimination bracket, with all games played in a Bo3 and the Grand Final stretching up to Bo5.

The DreamHack Masters Winter 2020: Europe will be broadcast on the organization’s official Twitch channel and hosted by James Banks. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

We hope to see you at DreamHack Atlanta and DreamHack Winter towards the end of the year. This also means that DreamHack Summer and Dallas will be postponed to 2022. In the meantime, we're currently working on an exciting new online experience that we hope to share with you shortly!

ESPORTS ENTERTAINMENT

We will continue to run broadcasts throughout the year and provide hours of esports action across multiple game titles, including:

CS:GO - Kicking off with the DreamHack Open in January, and will run through a packed schedule of EPT Masters and EPT Challenger dates throughout the year.

DOTA 2 - The official Dota Pro Circuit is already underway with DreamLeague covering Europe, and ESL One covering the CIS region.

StarCraft® II - The circuit tour will kick off with DreamHack StarCraft® II Masters in May 2021, and conclude at IEM Katowice in February 2022

Warcraft® III - The circuit will start with DreamHack Warcraft® III Open in May 2021, and culminate with DreamHack Warcraft® III Championship in December.
